Burner wallets and keys
Tasks need a wallet that can sign. That should always be a burner, never your main wallet.
Never share your main wallet's private key or seed phrase, with Sotto or anyone else. Sotto will never ask for a seed phrase.
What a burner is
A fresh wallet that holds only what one task needs, like the mint price plus a little gas. If anything goes wrong, that is all that is at risk.
Making one
- Create a new wallet
Any wallet app can make one in a few seconds.
- Fund it with just enough
Send the task amount and a little for gas. Nothing more.
- Hand it to Sotto for the task
Use it once, then empty it or leave it.
How Sotto handles a burner
The burner key goes only to the sealed computer running your task, is never stored, and is destroyed with that computer when the task ends.
In the preview the key field is locked and tasks run with a simulated burner. Do not paste a real key into a demo.
